Headingley has long been the area of choice for many a student and young professional seeking a multitude of hip bars, restaurants and coffee shops as well as some great boutique shopping and excellent access to the city and all university campuses.
Headingley has always had a great vibe and a fun atmosphere; you’re as likely to bump into well-heeled bright young things as you are batman and robin in full fancy dress. You can partake in the infamous Otley run in novelty attire of your choice, hit some of the trendy late night bars or tantalise your taste buds in one of Headingley’s award winning restaurants. You really are spoilt for choice. The Becketts Park area offers a lovely setting for the Headingley campus whilst students at the city campuses and Trinity also don’t have far to travel.
Don’t forget to take a trip to history-steeped Headingley stadium, recently refurbished and has hosted the Ashes and recently the Cricket World Cup! If cricket isn’t your thing you can go down and watch the Leeds Rhinos, also don’t forget the big varsity game!
Not many people know that ‘Lord of the Rings’ author, J.R.R Tolkien was a former Headingley resident and, should you catch an Otley run staggering past on a Sunday afternoon, you may still see the odd hobbit…
