STATEMENT
Lomond is committed to ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or our supply chains. We hold ourselves to the utmost standards of professional conduct and accept nothing less from our suppliers.
OUR BUSINESS STRUCTURE AND SUPPLY CHAINS
Our business is a network of leading Lettings and Estate Agents across the UK, with regional brands across Aberdeenshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Yorkshire, Manchester, Birmingham, The West Midlands and Brighton & Hove. Each brand within Lomond is its own legal entity and has an accountable director.
Across all brands we employ over 1000 direct employees and offer a broad range of property services including sales, lettings, block management, commercial, new homes and acquisition services.
Our suppliers include services to assist both our business and our customers. We consider our suppliers to be any contractor, consultant, supplier or other entity or individuals providing goods and/or services either directly or indirectly to any of brands within Lomond.
All our suppliers work according to dedicated agreements. We expect our suppliers to adhere to our policy and principles and have communicated that we have a zero tolerance to this and all regulatory matters. We continue to monitor our relationship and proactively work with these suppliers to ensure that persons working within these organisations are protected from modern slavery practices.
OUR POLICIES RELATING TO SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Whilst we recognise that there is a risk, we believe that both our business and the industry sector in which we operate are relatively low risk. Nevertheless, we take the matter of modern slavery and human trafficking very seriously and have clear policies and processes in place which are designed to ensure that we do not allow modern slavery or human trafficking occurring in our business or supply chain. These policies are regularly reviewed and are approved by the senior leadership team.
There is a clear whistleblowing policy in place which encourages our employees, to report all concerns where they believe there is any misconduct or malpractice including suspected slavery or trafficking issues. Any concerns raised will be objectively investigated and we will ensure that appropriate actions are taken.
TRAINING AND AWARENESS
To ensure an understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business, all our employees undertake mandatory e-learning training and must pass a test at the end to demonstrate they have a full understanding of our obligations contained within the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
OUR COMMITMENT FOR THE FUTURE
Our training will continue to be mandatory for all employees so that they have the knowledge to identify any risks of modern slavery. In addition, we will continue to monitor the controls and procedures we have in place for current and new suppliers whilst having regard for the latest Government guidance and any legislative changes.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved on 14th November 2022
