Sugarhouse Properties are getting their running shoes on! Some of our team, along with over 10,000 people will be running the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon in May, to help raise money and spread awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
MND is a rare condition that affects a person’s lifestyle, leading to muscle weakness, visible wasting, and weight loss. The Marathon is being organised by the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) and the amazing Kevin Sinfield OBE, former Leeds Rhinos captain, to raise funds for The Rob Burrow Centre For MND; an amazing cause for an inspiring human being. The centre will provide advanced and efficient treatment along with a safe space for patients to “live in the now.”
To help raise funds for the development of the new centre, Charlie, Jason, Kate and Steph will be donning their running gear and hitting the streets of Leeds in a few weeks’ time. They’ve all been training hard, through wind, rain and snow and we’d love people to get behind them and the MNDA and help us raise as much money as possible.
The route will take the runners through Headingley and Hyde Park at the start (and passing lots of our student and professional rental properties on the way – so it would be great for some of our tenants to give us a wave!), as well as our office, where the rest of our team will be waiting with bottles of water and chocolate bars! The route finishes, fittingly, at Headingley Stadium where Rob played for many years.
“We’ve all been training our socks off! None of us is born runners but happy to do our bit for a great cause. With only 6 weeks to go, we have just breached the half-marathon mark but there’s still a long way to go (literally)! We appreciate any and all donations!” – Jason Bellwood – General Manager
Every little bit helps, and it goes a long way in helping thousands of people get proper treatment.
